April 2018

  • Lee PalsakGoldie got second place in Level 1 – Vehicles at the Burbank NACSW Trail. (Apr 2018)

  • Susan SolomonTot passed all three ORT’s (birch, anise and clove) for NACSW Nose Work in Grass Valley. He warmed up over course of the long day and got clove in a fast 6.93 seconds. Way to go Tot! (Apr 2018)
  • Susan SolomonNiko earned his second NW3 title on May 5th at the NACSW Trial in Rancho Cucamonga. (He already had the first NW3 title as of last summer, but you need three NW3 legs to earn NW3 Elite, so we are now two legs towards that.) He also earned that day three NW3 element titles: NW3-C (Container), NW3-I (Interior) and NW3-V (Vehicle). It was a really hot day in the mid 90's and it was a very good trial, including one interior search that was a blank (which is allowed by the rules but not typical to see). (Apr 2018)
  • Debbie WanlinPosey got her 6th Rally Masters leg at the Pug Specialty on April 20th with a score of 95, and 2nd place. At the Chief Solano KC Trial on April 22nd, she got her 7th Rally Masters leg with a score of 96 and 2nd place. And on April 29th at the Mt. Diablo Trial, she got her 8th Rally Masters leg, finishing in 1st place with a score of 98. (Apr 2018)
  • Debbie WanlinSteph finished her Rally Advanced title at the Pug Specialty on April 20th with a score of 88, finishing in 4th place. (Apr 2018)
  • Constance BarichRosie earned legs 6 through 9 towards her Rally Master title in Sacramento at the Northern California Terrier Association and the Sacramento Kennel Club’s April 12-15, 2018 back-to-back trials. She took 1st place on Thursday with a score of 98, qualified with a score of 83 on Friday (Rosie decided to take a detour around the jump...), took 4th Place on Saturday with a score of 91, and managed to take 1st Place again on Sunday with a score of 99. March 2018

  • Debbie WanlinPosey qualified in Rally Masters three times at the Vintage Dog Show Cluster. On Thursday, she got a score of 85, on Friday and Saturday, she got a scores of 96, placing 3rd both days. She now has 5 Rally Master legs. (Mar 2018)
  • Mary BayleyThor got the final 2 legs of his Rally Excellent title at the San Mateo KC show. (Mar 2018)
  • Mary BayleyFeargus got his first Rally Intermediate leg at the San Mateo KC show with a score of 98 for 1st place. The following day he got his second RI leg with a score of 96 for 3rd place. (Mar 2018)
  • Dee BogushTwig competed in his very first agility trial. He got two Novice Jumpers leg and one Novice Standard leg at the Sac Valley Shetland Sheepdog Club Agility Trial in Dixon. (Mar 2018)
  • Ellen FletcherDart finished his SIN (Scentwork Interior Novice) title at the San Joaquin DTC Scentwork Trial. (Mar 2018)
  • Debbie WanlinSteph qualified in Rally four times at the Vintage Dog Show Cluster. On Thursday, she finished her Rally Intermediate title with a score of 96 and first place. On Friday, she got an insurance Rally Intermediate leg with a score of 98, again for 1st place. On Saturday, she moved up to Rally Advanced and got her first leg with a score of 98 and 2nd place. On Sunday, she got her second Rally Advanced leg with a score of 96 and 4th place. (Mar 2018)

February 2018

  • Dee BogushTwig got a new kitten. He was also awarded an Achiever Dog title. (Feb 2018)
  • Ernest & Julianne KnellMerywen had a litter of 8 puppies in February – 4 girls and 4 boys. She is a great mom. Brad was an enormous help during the whelping. (Feb 2018)
  • Lee PalsakKevin got his L3C title at the NACSW trial in Simi Valley. He has come a long way from back surgery. (Feb 2018)
  • Lynne PriceMinyan is looking good after major surgery. She was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect in February and it was touch and go for a while. Her future looks much brighter now. There is a good chance that she will live a normal life. (Feb 2018)
  • Susan SolomonNiko got his TKN, TKI, TKA, and TKP – all on the same day. His TKP (Performer) test was themed around the Oakland A’s “Bark in the Park” day. (Feb 2018)

  • Marilou & Allen GarfinkleClinton , a yellow lab puppy, was introduced at the meeting. He is a grandson of Tess and a half brother to Truman. (Feb 2018)

January 2018

  • Dee BogushTwig got High in Trial at the Fresno DTC Trial. It was his last showing in Novice. Such a smarty pants. (Jan 2018)
  • Ellen FletcherDart competed in the AKC Scent Work Trials in Ferndale, where he picked up a lot of ribbons. There were 3 Novice Trials and One Advanced Trial over 2 days. Dart finished his Novice Title in Containers (SCN) and got his first leg towards his Advanced Containers Title. He also earned 2 legs towards his Novice Interior title. (Jan 2018)
  • Nanette FranceschiniFaith got an Achiever Dog title from the AKC. (Jan 2018)
  • Nanette FranceschiniHope was invited to the AKC Rally Championships. (Jan 2018)
  • Ernest & Julianne KnellMerywen was awarded an Achiever Dog title from the AKC. She is also officially pregnant. (Jan 2018)
  • Rebecca LogsdonCoulter turned 18 on February 1st. For his age, he looks terrific and is in excellent health. We celebrated his birthday at the meeting with cupcakes. (Jan 2018)

  • Rita JensenFlash finished 11th overall at the NACSW Invitational in Massachusetts (out of 46 teams). They were 2nd in the Moses search; 4th in the Young Restaurant search; 6th in the small outdoor arena search; and 7th in the C Barn search. (Oct 2017)
  • Josette & Scott KimesElsa finished 19th overall at the NACSW Invitational in Massachusetts (out of 46 teams). They were 7th in the outdoor arena search; 9th in the small outdoor arena search; and 11th in the food court search. (Oct 2017)

  • Nanette FranceschiniFaith got a UDX leg at the Fremont DTC Trial and qualified in Utility at the San Lorenzo DTC Trial. (Sep 2017)
  • Nanette FranceschiniHope finished her Rally Novice and Beginner Novice titles at the Fremont and San Lorenzo DTC Trials. She placed both days in Rally Novice and was 1st place both days in Beginner Novice. (Sep 2017)
  • Marilou & Allen GarfinkleDancer made her debut at the meeting. She is a 10 week old chocolate lab puppy. Allen and Marilou own her grandmother and bred her mom. She was from a litter of 6 girls. Dancer is cute as a button and stole the show at the meeting. (Sep 2017)
  • Connie HolmTeemu finished his CD at the Lake Drake Trial. He was handled by Allen Garfinkle. (Sep 2017)
  • Susan SolomonNiko finished his NW3 title at Pacific Palisades. It was only his second attempt, so his mom is super proud. (Sep 2017)

August 2017

  • Mary BayleyThor got his CDX title. He placed first every time he qualified. (Aug 2017)
  • Nanette FranceschiniFaith qualified for the finals at the ASCA Nationals by finished in the top 10 for Utility. She has qualified for ASCA Nationals at every level. However, she won’t be going to the Nationals this year because it’s in Texas. (Aug 2017)
  • Connie HolmTeemu turned 3 on September 11th. At Santa Rosa, he got his first CD leg, placing 3rd, and on Sunday, he got his 2nd leg with a score of 190. He was handled by Allen Garfinkle. (Aug 2017)
  • Ernest & Julianne KnellBriar Rose got 2 Best Opposites at Mensona. (Aug 2017)
  • Ernest & Julianne KnellMerywen finished her CD. In conformation, she got 2 (maybe 3) Best Opposites at Enumclaw. And in Barn Hunt, she got her first RATO leg. (Aug 2017)
  • Ron & Jan JonesDiva got a huge rosette and won some money by placing 6th at the Breeders Showcase in Santa Barbara. She was handled by Jan. (Aug 2017)

July 2017

  • Marilou & Allen GarfinkleZiva , their new yellow lab puppy, made her debut at the meeting. Her father is Truman. Ziva won the 4 to 6 month puppy class and was Best Opposite at the Richmond Dog Fanciers show. (Jul 2017)

June 2017

  • Nanette FranceschiniDipper got his ASCA Rally X (RNX) title. RNX means that he got scores of 195 or higher. (Jun 2017)
  • Nanette FranceschiniHope got her ASCA Rally X (RNX) title. She was high scoring dog in Rally at both the morning and afternoon shows, winning runoffs both times (in the afternoon runoff she went up against 3 other dogs, including a dog with an RAE7). (Jun 2017)
  • Carolyn MengesLacy was entered in the Reno Nosework NW1 test on June 4th. She was so fast that the test was over before you could blink. She won 1st place searching Containers and found the hide in 4.82 seconds. She won 1st place searching the Exterior and found that hide in 6.85 seconds. She won 2nd place, out of 44 dogs entered, with an Over-All speed of 1 minute 6 seconds in finding the hides. Best of all, she won her NW1 title. I am so proud of Lacey and so happy that she loves training for this sport. Thank you, Josette Kimes, for spending extra time with her to reinforce her staying at the hide once she’s found it.
